Anne Freeman Yoga
About Anne
Anne has practised yoga for 35 years and taught for 12 years. She talks about her experience and her approach to teaching.
“My teaching is based on my own yoga practice and from the opportunities I’ve had to train with a wide range of teachers from a variety of traditions. My skill lies in teaching in such a way that everyone in a class finds value in the practice. Classes are paced to allow time for me to guide you in how to adapt the practice to suit your body.
In my own life, I’ve benefitted immeasurably from yoga’s power to transform. For many of us, the yoga journey starts with us paying attention to our physical body and our breath, and continues and deepens as our awareness is refined each time we practice.
Yoga releases tension in the body, gently relaxes, and then encourages you to tone and strengthen parts of your body that may be neglected. It helps you to notice and understand your patterns of movement and breathing and the ways of thinking and feeling that have become your habits. It provides you with the information you need to be able to change.
I have been teaching in Felixstowe, Woodbridge and surrounding villages for 12 years. I hold a diploma in teaching yoga from the British Wheel of Yoga, the biggest umbrella organisation for yoga in the UK. It is a thorough training (Ofqual-regulated, bench-marked, level 4), taking 3 years and covering yoga postures, anatomy, physiology, yoga philosophy, breathing practices, meditation, mindfulness and relaxation. Once trained, all BWY teachers undertake Continuous Professional Development. In addition, I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a qualification specifically awarded for teaching adults.”

“Since joining her class eighteen months ago, Anne’s teaching has had a significant impact on my wellbeing. She enabled me to understand how to avoid over-stressing knee and hip joints which were painful. In a short time, the pain has gone and my range of movement has increased.”Janet M
“I was in the first stages of osteoarthritis with a hip replacement pending. After a year of yoga, I am free of hip pain. I stand straighter and feel taller, am much free-er in the shoulder joints, and have learnt to relax, even in stressful situations.”Kay W
“Anne is a brilliant teacher, allowing us to go at our own pace. The benefits for me are improved strength, better posture, and a calmer outlook on life. I would thoroughly recommend yoga with Anne.” Sarah F
